This past Sunday, September 27th, we held a prayer vigil for Pastor Saeed and the persecuted church. The night was organized and led by Lydia Ours (our Youth Pastor’s wife and guest services coordinator here at NLC) and a group of our high schoolers. We spent the night in prayer for Pastor Saeed’s safety, release, family, and that he would continue to shine God’s light in the midst of his persecution.
For those of you who don’t know who Pastor Saeed is, he is an American pastor who was converted from the Islam faith. He travelled to Iran to do some mission work, and was then captured and imprisoned for no other reason that be a Christian and sharing his faith. He is currently in year three of an eight year prison sentence in one of Iran’s toughest prisons. Pastor Saeed has faced countless beatings and persecution while he has been in prison. He currently needs surgery as a result from the beatings, but the surgeon refuses to operate because Pastor Saeed is an “unclean Christian”. We ask that you would join us in continuing to pray Pastor Saeed and the persecuted church!
We ask and encourage all who read this to sign the petition to free Pastor Saeed Abedini by going to beheardproject.com and scrolling to the bottom of the page to sign the petition.
You can also see some of the pictures from the night as well as a short video from the youth band closing out the prayer vigil below.
Be Blessed and we hope to see you soon!
