There is no youth on Easter Sunday, April 21st.

Live It Up Week 3 (2/28/16)

Sunday was our 3rd and final week in our “Live It Up!” Series. We kicked the night off outside with a game called “Rock, Paper, Scissor Tag”. This is a game where you have to think fast and run even faster! The group is split into two teams. Each team picks what they will play for that round. Whichever team loses the round has to run back to their base before getting tagged by the other team. Anyone who gets tagged before they get back to their team’s base has to join the other team. The team with the most people when time runs out wins the game!

After the game we moved into our worship time before getting to the message: “Looking Upward and Forward”. We looked at Colossians 3:1-4NLTSince you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Paul wrote this to the church at Colossae because the new believers were struggling to remain anchored in the truth of their new life in Christ. Paul reminded them to set their minds on what they had to look forward to in their walk with Christ. We will all face people that will try to distort the truth, deceive us, and drag us down into our old way of life. Like the new believers at Colossae, we need to remember to set our minds and focus above on God and his will for our life.

We closed the night out with one more song and prayed for those attending the Dare2Share Trip this weekend!
