This was one of our biggest turn outs in a long while! Keep bringing those friends!
Lydia, Brittany, and Jason did a little skit, and Pastor Dustin spoke on “The Right Exercise” and the importance about exercising in our spiritual walk just as we do in out regular lives.
The objective of the lesson was to help everyone realize that we do not need to try to be someone we are not. Just like different sports and activities have different exercises and routines to help us get into shape, God created each of us with a specific plan for our lives. This also means that each of us can develop our own routine to help us draw closer to God. There are obviously undeniable biblical truths that we are all expected to live by. However, what works for one person to help them draw closer to God may vary from person to person. For example, some people like to take their quite time of a morning, some at night, some may relate more to the warrior side of God, some at the artistic side, and some to the compassionate, loving nature of God.
Also, it is important to remember that we do not need to compare ourselves to other Christians, and become embarrassed because we are not as far along in our walks as others we may know. We simply need to commit to knowing God more in our own lives through prayer and reading our Bible, and allow God to grow us in his timing.
John 15:16NIV says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” God chose YOU to be on his team! It wasn’t something that had to be earned, but accepted. God has chosen you. The question is, “Will you accept the invitation and pursue him in return?”
