Your Spiritual GPS/Skating Trip

This weekend was a blast! We went skating on Saturday, and then we talked about “Your Spiritual GPS” on Sunday night. Our spiritual GPS is the Bible.

The Bible isn’t like any other book because it is still alive and active in our lives today. The Bible isn’t just the “word” of God; it is the voice of God. The more time we spend getting to know the word, or written voice of God, the more we will come to know God’s spoken voice in our lives.

Life also has a way of throwing detours at us. It’s really not a matter of “if”, but when we’ll be faced with unexpected situations in our lives. The Bible serves as our guide and entry point to knowing and discerning the voice of God to guide us through the “detours” of life.

We hope to see you next week and be blessed!

The Right Exercise

The Right Exercise

This was one of our biggest turn outs in a long while! Keep bringing those friends!

Lydia, Brittany, and Jason did a little skit, and Pastor Dustin spoke on “The Right Exercise” and the importance about exercising in our spiritual walk just as we do in out regular lives.

The objective of the lesson was to help everyone realize that we do not need to try to be someone we are not. Just like different sports and activities have different exercises and routines to help us get into shape, God created each of us with a specific plan for our lives. This also means that each of us can develop our own routine to help us draw closer to God. There are obviously undeniable biblical truths that we are all expected to live by. However, what works for one person to help them draw closer to God may vary from person to person. For example, some people like to take their quite time of a morning, some at night, some may relate more to the warrior side of God, some at the artistic side, and some to the compassionate, loving nature of God.

Also, it is important to remember that we do not need to compare ourselves to other Christians, and become embarrassed because we are not as far along in our walks as others we may know. We simply need to commit to knowing God more in our own lives through prayer and reading our Bible, and allow God to grow us in his timing.

John 15:16NIV says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”                       God chose YOU to be on his team! It wasn’t something that had to be earned, but accepted. God has chosen you. The question is, “Will you accept the invitation and pursue him in return?”

We are currently doing a series titled “Counterfeit: There’s only one truth… Everything else is a fraud”,  that will run through the end of December. Throughout this series, we will be looking at how Satan tries to counterfeit the Gospel through lies and deception as well as how we can overcome Satan’s efforts to deceive us in our walk with God.

God’s Not Dead Series – Episode 2

Tonight we kicked off the night with pizza dip, chips, and a game of intense kickball. We continued our God’s Not Dead series by challenging the youth to be bold and unashamed in their relationship with God. Of course, we had our normal craziness after youth was over,  which included Luke holding a purse. See pictures below.

We played volleyball because, well, you can’t get enough volleyball. Really, think about it. There are only a few Sundays left that we can actually go outside, and we plan on using that to the fullest!

After drinks, chips, and volleyball we spent some time worshiping!
