Awakening Youth Ministries Parent Update

upcoming events

Hello Parents!

I wanted to touch base about some upcoming events for the fall semester. This year, we are hoping and believing for an incredible year in the lives of the youth, their schools, and the youth ministry itself. We are slightly modifying what we do on Thursday nights. We will be doing LifeGroups on the 1st and 3rd Thursday nights, outreach training/community outreach on the 2nd Thursday, and a group hangout/service project on the 4th Thursday.

We will be welcoming in our new 6th graders as well as recognizing/commissioning this year’s seniors on September 6th. We are also inviting parents to attend the youth service on September 6th for a time of fellowship and games after youth since this is a holiday weekend.

This year, I want to strongly encourage all of the youth to participate in See You at The Pole. See You at the Pole is a nation wide event that will take place on September 20th where students will gather around their school’s flag pole at 7:00 AM to pray for their school, community, and country. While this will make for an early morning, it could have an incredible impact on the schools where our students attend. More information on See You at the Pole will be available within the next 1-2 weeks.

We will be attending Dare2Share again this year, March 4th-5th, in Dayton, Ohio. The cost for early bird registration is $49 and is due by Sunday, October 4th. Other costs for the trip will include $15-20 for the van rental, around $30 for the hotel room, and money for 3 meals. The total cost should be around $100. Obviously, all costs are estimates and could change. We will do our best to provide the most cost-efficient options that we can.

We are also leaning towards doing a mission trip again for the summer of 2016 and will have more information when it becomes available to us.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is any way that we could be of any further assistance to you and your family!

Be Blessed!

Pastor Dustin

The Fest

This past Sunday, August 9, we took 14 people to “The Fest” Musical Festival in Wickliffe, Ohio. We saw Building 429, Steven Curtis Chapman, and MercyMe in concert. We also had the opportunity to play different games, talk and hangout, and eat a Johnsonville Brat straight from the Johnsonville Brat trailer:) We all had a blast rocking and worshipping with THOUSANDS of other believers (as seen in the picture above), and can’t wait for “The Fest 2016”! Below you can check out some pictures from the day.
